Employee Spotlight: Caitlin Root

Meet Caitlin - An avid world traveler and Perenso's newest Sales Operations maestro!
Hometown: I grew up in Austin, TX, when it was a smaller town of around 500K people. Back when SXSW wasn’t a big deal, housing was affordable, Leslie roamed the downtown streets, and Dell was the only big tech company there.
What is your role at Perenso, and what does it entail? I am the Sales Operations Manager and the Robin to Amanda’s Batwoman. I’m responsible for generating revenue and organizing our sales processes to grow the team soon.
How long have you been at Perenso? I started with Perenso in late October 2023, just about 4 months.
What is your favorite thing about working at Perenso? The people, the people, and the people! We have an incredible team of folks here. Everyone has been fabulous to work with, and I am excited for more opportunities to meet more of the team in person at our events.
How did you end up at Perenso? My Mother-in-law (and Kirstin’s Mom, Roberta) introduced me to Amanda after learning I was in a miserable sales role and Amanda was looking for sales support. After speaking with Amanda, I felt confident that she, like me, was a person that wanted to have fun and get shit done—something I value in a leader. So far, I haven’t been proven wrong.
The most exciting thing you’re working on: Everything is exciting! I am still learning so much that everything thing feels fresh and engaging. I’m most excited about the growth we’re looking to achieve. I love tackling complex business challenges and look forward to contributing to Perenso's next phase!
Are you a bookworm or a binge-watcher? What is your favorite TV show or book? I love both, but lately, I have been way more of a bookworm. My current favorite book is the Empyrean Series (Fourth Wing, Iron Flame)
If you could choose anyone in the world to be on a deserted island with, who would you choose and why? My sister might kill me, but it would be my husband. We have so much fun together! Whether we’re traveling the world, reading on the couch next to each other, going to breweries and wineries, or taking our pups to the park, life is better with him around.
Where is the coolest place you’ve traveled to? Colombia blew my mind! It is a gorgeous place full of wonderful people, hiking, oceans, food, dancing, music, and the BEST coffee I have ever had.
Name an item on your bucket list: Going to areas in Europe where my Jewish family had to escape from during the holocaust with my mom and sister. This trip would be incredibly meaningful to do with my family!
Do you have any pets? Two pups who will be the death of my bank account. Kona is a nearly 15-year-old miniature pinscher (her birthday is 3/9, and we’re throwing her a Quinceanera to celebrate). Gordon is a 2.5-year-old French Bulldog who is wildly independent and loves food (popcorn is his favorite) and warming himself by the heat vent.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better: A walk along sunset cliffs in San Diego. I lived there for nearly 20 years, and the cliffs were a place I took myself on the best and worst of days. Kevin and I were married there in 2017, and I love that I can still feel the magic of that moment each time I’m there.
