If you could work from anywhere, where would you be most happy and productive? Maybe near the beach? Or maybe in the mountains? Perhaps closer to family? With the rise in popularity of working from home, the option to work from anywhere has become one of the silver linings of the pandemic. The ability for employees to work from anywhere creates more freedom and flexibility in their lives.
As with many companies during the pandemic, Perenso has given employees the opportunity to work from anywhere, and many employees are taking full advantage. At one point, we had Denver-based employees in Hawaii, Santa Fe, Crested Butte, San Antonio, and Ohio. As you can see, the options are varied and limited only by your imagination.
Laura, one of Perenso’s Show Leads, made the temporary move to Hawaii and is livin’ the island way. “Getting done with work at 2pm, Hawaii time, has allowed after-work activities I could have only dreamed of from Colorado. Just yesterday, I went for a little afternoon snorkeling session. And tomorrow, who knows, maybe I will hike to a waterfall under a double rainbow!”
Although living the island life in Hawaii sounds idyllic, it may not be practical for all, but that’s the beauty of working from anywhere. You don’t have to go far to reap the benefits. Some of the Perenso team have adventured to new towns in Colorado and the surrounding states. As Dana, a member of the Customer Success team stated, “Many of the smaller towns have a lot of history and personality that have been fun to explore during lunch and after the workday. I hope to continue to explore new places within driving distance from Denver.” She continues, “I look forward to not looking at the same 4 walls all the time. Being able to move around helps keep a fresh perspective as well as live a less ‘Groundhog Day’ life.”
While nature and adventure are big motivators for some, the want/need to be around family and friends can also be a determining factor when deciding where you would like to set up your laptop. Matthew, an Account Manager at Perenso, said, "Since I’m able to work from anywhere, I have been able to spend more quality time with friends and family across the country. This is time I would not have been able to spend with them if not for the current situation. The new normal has brought on some new challenges, but if you look hard enough it has it rewards."
